In England's land, a warning's spread,
Of water shortages, a dire dread.
Within a decade, the taps may run dry,
Unless new reservoirs rise to the sky.
Ministers speak, with urgency high,
Planning sped up, for two projects nigh.
Fens Reservoir in Cambridgeshire's the place,
And Lincolnshire's too, with a similar face.
But locals object, with voices so strong,
Their concerns ignored, as the process moves along.
Environment Secretary takes the final say,
A decision made, to speed up the day.
Water Minister Emma Hardy's words are clear,
"We need these reservoirs, or we'll face a fear."
By 2036 and 2040, they'll be complete,
But for now, the taps may soon repeat.
A growing population, and hotter summers too,
Demand more water, and the supply's not new.
Droughts are coming, with climate change's might,
And reservoirs can help, to hold back the night.

670 million litres, a water flow to go.
The Havant Thicket reservoir, is already underway,
A project so grand, to bring water to stay.
But experts warn, of costs so high,
And bills that may rise, to the water's sigh.
Regulation's key, to cut waste and conserve,
Not just building reservoirs, to the water's course.
