Scotland's Chernobyl Razed to the Ground Finally

In Port Glasgow, a town so fair, Clune Park's demolition will soon be there.

In Scotland's Inverclyde, a place so grey,
Lies Clune Park, a derelict estate in disarray.
Built for shipyard workers, a century ago so fine,
Now abandoned, a ghost town, a sorry decline.
The tenements stood tall, with red sandstone so bright,
But neglect and decay, brought an end to their light.
The church and the school, stood empty and still,
A testament to the past, a story to fulfill.
Urban explorers came, with cameras in hand,
To capture the beauty, of this desolate land.
But the authorities warned, of the dangers so real,
Of crumbling walls and fire, a deadly reveal.
The comparison was made, to Pripyat's sad fate,
A city abandoned, after a nuclear weight.
But Clune Park's story, is one of decline and decay,
A spiral of neglect, that led to this day.
Karen and Allan, once lived here with glee,
In a lovely flat, with neighbours so free.
But the area fell down, and the flats were bought up fast,
As investments, with no care for the past.
