In exam season's stressful sway,
Students and families face a busy day,
From GCSEs to A-levels, and more in sight,
A time of stress that lasts through the night.
Meet the Jolleys, a family so dear,
Dad Steve, a teacher, and a guiding ear,
Emma, 19, with criminology in view,
Found A-level revision overwhelming, it's true.
Ben, 18, with maths and physics so bright,
Found GCSEs easier, but A-levels a fight,
Jess, 15, with PE and art in her heart,
Wants to go to basketball college, a brand new start.
Their dad helped Emma with a study plan so fine,
To keep her on track, and make revision divine,
Talking feelings, and listening with care,
A parent's role, to show they truly care.
Stevie Goulding says, "Anxiety gets high,
When young people are stressed, and can't deny,
Their feelings, and worries, it's okay to share,
And reassure them, with a loving care."
Ben says, "Revision can be boring, I confess,
But past papers, and applying, it's a success,
Flashcards, mind maps, and YouTube too,
Helping students, with a creative clue."
Jess loves flashcards, easy and quick to make,
Her dad helps test her, with a loving shake,
Taking breaks, and having fun,
Helps to balance, and get the work done.
Phones can be distracting, a tempting test,
But hiding it away, helps to find the best,
Staying hydrated, eating well, and exercising too,
Helps to look after, the brain and the crew.
Dad Steve says, "It's tricky, to take the phone away,
But helping your child, to find a better way,
Acknowledging worries, and validating fears,
Helps to calm the mind, and dry the tears.
So when exams are done, and the stress subsides,
The Jolleys will celebrate, with a happy pride,
Trips and proms, and memories so bright,
A reward for their hard work, shining with delight.
