"Schools Fail to Protect Autistic Children's Rights"

A school in Leeds, where kids are meant to be safe, Used a calming room to restrain a child in a brutal way.

In a school for special needs kids so fine,
A 12-year-old boy with autism did shine.
But staff used force, it's a sorry sight,
Holding him down, without a fight.
The footage shows five staff members strong,
Holding him face-down, all day long.
His mother was horrified, she did say,
"This is not a place for my child to stay."
The school said no case to answer, they claim,
But experts disagree, it's a brutal game.
The restraint was too much, it's not right,
A prone position for three long minutes in sight.
The room was like a cell, a place to confine,
Traumatic for kids with autism's special mind.
A calming room should be a peaceful place,
Not a room for restraint, with a sad, sad face.
The school said it's just a difference of opinion,
But experts say no, it's a case of cruel devotion.
The boy's mother said, "This is not a place for me,
My child should be safe, not restrained, you see."
