In the UK, a fuel's in the air,
HVO diesel's growing, beyond compare,
A green fuel, some say, with a claim so bright,
But fraud's in the mix, and it's just not right.
It's made from waste, or so they say,
Used cooking oil, in a better way,
But whistleblowers claim it's not the case,
Virgin palm oil's used, with a deceitful face.
The numbers don't add up, it's plain to see,
More palm sludge waste's used, than can be,
Produced in the world, it's a mystery to share,
A mismatch that points to a scam so unfair.
The Department for Transport's on the case,
Working with stakeholders, to uncover the pace,
Of the fake fuel, and the fraud so bold,
To keep the green credentials, from growing old.
The industry's in a mess, it's time to confess,
Virgin palm oil's used, and it's a big distress,
For the planet, and the creatures so dear,
The orang-utans, and the forests so clear.
