In the High Court, a case did unfold,
About hormones and young people to hold.
Wes Streeting's review, a decision to make,
On cross-sex hormones, for young hearts to partake.
The NHS guidance, allows 16 and above,
To receive these hormones, a change to love.
But campaigners say, it's not right to give,
To those under 18, a choice to live.
Keira Bell spoke out, with a story to tell,
Of regret and sorrow, a body to compel.
She wants a ban, on private clinics too,
To stop the harm, that these hormones can do.
The government says, it's a complex issue to face,
With many views, and a sensitive pace.
They're seeking advice, from NHS England's door,
To make a decision, that's right, and not a bore.
A review is underway, with experts to guide,
To make a decision, that will not be denied.
The court has dismissed, the application to review,
But the case is not closed, it's still to pursue.
The government's spokesperson, says children's care,
Must be led by evidence, and not by fear or despair.
They're working with the NHS, to reform and to change,
To make sure young people, receive the right range.
But Dr Aidan Kelly, says there's no need to ban,
Cross-sex hormones for under 18's, it's not a plan.
The decision to treat, should be made with care,
Between the young person, their family, and their clinical team to share.
The debate continues, with many a voice to be heard,
On the use of hormones, and the rights that are blurred.
The government's review, will make a decision to take,
On cross-sex hormones, for young people to partake.
