In England's NHS, a ballot's underway,
Doctors are voting, what will they say?
Wes Streeting urges them to "vote no" with care,
To avoid strikes, and show they truly care.
He warns that strikes will hinder progress made,
And hamper the NHS, in a way that's not played.
The Health Secretary's words are clear and bright,
No strikes, he says, it's just not right.
But doctors are not happy with the pay rise deal,
5.4% this year, it's not what they feel.
They've taken part in 11 strikes, you see,
And now they're voting, for action to be.
The union's urging them to vote "yes" with might,
For strikes to take place, and make their voices bright.
The government's given them a pay rise so fair,
But doctors say it's not enough, they just don't care.
Their starting salary's risen by £9,500 or more,
To £38,800, but they're asking for more.
The BMA says another 20% is what they need,
To bring wages back to where they were, indeed.
The vote is on, until 7 July's the day,
Doctors are deciding, what to do, come what may.
Streeting says his door is open, always so wide,
But there's no more money, to increase salaries with pride.
The NHS is at risk, if strikes take place,
Patients will suffer, and that's not a happy face.
Streeting's warning, of the consequences so dire,
Is it too late, to show some fire?
In Scotland, a different story's being told,
A deal's been made, with an 8% pay rise to hold.
No strikes in Scotland, just a peaceful way,
But in England, the battle's here to stay.
Consultants are next, with a 4% rise so low,
The first step towards strikes, don't you know?
Nurses and midwives, with a 3.6% increase so small,
Are they happy, or will they take a stand at all?
