Bin Strike Deal Offered, But Will Workers Accept?

In Birmingham's streets, a mess did abound,
Piles of bin bags, a sight all around.
Angela Rayner spoke up, a deal to make fair,
For the striking workers, to end the dispute there.

She said the council moved, to meet their demands high,
A significantly improved offer, to catch their eye.
But Sharon Graham, Unite's leader, was not impressed at all,
Saying the deal was partial, and wouldn't stand tall.

The dispute began, on a March day so bright,
About a health and safety job, a role that's just not right.
150 staff affected, a cut of £8,000 a year,
Pay progression lost, for hundreds, a cause to fear.

The council disputes, the numbers and the pay,
But Unite stands firm, come what may.
The government backs the council, with a firm hand,
While Unite says, the workers are in control, in this land.

Rayner visited the recycling centre, with a message so clear,
Accept the deal, and the dispute will disappear.
But Graham was angry, with words so bold and bright,
The government's attacks, a disgrace, a terrible sight.
