In the land of comedy and song so bright,
Lived Mike Berry, a star shining with delight.
He played Mr Spooner with a grin so wide,
In Are You Being Served?, his fame did reside.
He sang of love and sunshine in the air,
Don't You Think It's Time, a hit beyond compare.
In the 60s, he toured with the Beatles' crew,
And the Rolling Stones, his music shone through.
With The Outlaws, he reached the top so high,
Number six with Don't You Think It's Time, he did fly.
Tribute to Buddy Holly and My Little Baby too,
He sang of love, and his fans sang along with you.
He returned to the top ten in 1980's light,
The Sunshine of Your Smile, a hit so bright.
Originally written in 1913, it still did shine,
A timeless classic, Mike Berry's voice divine.
He toured with Chas and Dave, a friendship so true,
Together they sang, and their fans sang anew.
Their thoughts are with Mike's family, in this sad time so dark,
Their memories of him, a shining spark.
