In the Commons, a speech was made,
By Steve Yemm, an MP not afraid,
He praised a firm, with power so bright,
But forgot to declare, a donation in sight.
Power Saving Solutions, a company so fine,
In Mansfield, his constituency, it did shine,
He spoke of its work, with battery power grand,
But £10,000 donation, he didn't declare to the land.
The code of conduct, a rule so clear,
Any interest relevant, must be declared here,
But Yemm forgot, and now he must pay,
For his mistake, in a most awkward way.
He apologised, with a humble tone,
And said he'd correct, the record soon,
To the parliamentary standards, he made a call,
To fix the mistake, and stand tall.
A £10,000 donation, a sum so grand,
From a company, in his own land,
He should have declared, with a happy face,
But now he's apologising, in a most awkward place.
His register of interests, a document so fine,
Shows the donation, but not in his speech in time,
He'll learn from his mistake, and be more aware,
Of the rules, and the consequences he'll share.
