In West Yorkshire, a search did unfold,
By police and crews, young and bold.
A reservoir's waters, a girl did stray,
And a search party came out to play.
At Baitings Reservoir, near Ripponden's town,
A body was found, with a sorrowful frown.
The police were called, with a search to make,
And a team of divers, with a task to undertake.
The body was found, on a Thursday so bright,
Earlier in the afternoon, with a somber sight.
No suspicious circumstances, they did say,
Just a young girl, who went astray.
Det Insp Laura Hall, with a message so kind,
Sent her thoughts to the family, left behind.
Specially trained officers, with a helping hand,
Supported the family, in a difficult land.
The fire crews arrived, with a helping face,
From West Yorkshire and Greater Manchester's place.
Five crews attended, with a brave little team,
To help find the girl, and bring her back to the scene.
But now the search is over, and the girl's found,
A sad day for all, in this West Yorkshire ground.
The police will investigate, to find out what's true,
But for now, let's just say, a young life was lost, too.
