Businesses say they're owed a lot,
Hundreds of thousands, a hefty plot,
By the government, a delay so long,
Leaving them out of pocket, all day strong.
They're part of Access to Work, a scheme so fine,
Helping disabled people, a helping hand in line,
But backlogs and payment delays, a big concern,
Leaving businesses worried, with a heavy burn.
One company's owed nearly two hundred grand,
Worried they may have to shut down, in this land,
Another's already closed, due to the stress,
A tragedy for the community, what a mess.
Yateley Industries, a charity so old,
Employing people with disabilities, a story to be told,
They're owed £186,000, a sum so high,
An existential threat, they can't deny.
Their chief executive says, with a worried face,
"If we don't get it, we'll have to close this place,
A tragedy for the community, and the government's plan,
To boost job prospects, but now it's in danger, man."
