In Wales, a couple did reside,
Alison and Ian, with a mountain nearby.
A wildfire raged down the mountain so steep,
Leaving them in fear, their home to keep.
The flames got close, oh what a sight,
Ian said, "We worry, with climate change in sight."
More fires and longer seasons, that's what they say,
A future to fear, every single day.
Prof Stefan Doerr, a researcher so fine,
Said milder winters will bring more fires in line.
A mild winter and drought, a bad mix indeed,
A wildfire season, that's what they need.
Firefighters worked hard, to save the day,
But the workload and danger, seem to be on the way.
A close call for Alison, when the flames drew near,
She trusted the system, and the firemen so dear.
But the danger's real, and the risk is so high,
Ian fears for the firefighters, who risk their lives to try.
To put out the flames, and save what they can,
A job so tough, in a land so grand.
