Beware: Hands-Free Feeding in Slings is Unsafe

In slings, a warning now does abound,
From charities, for parents all around,
Hands-free feeding's not safe, they say with care,
For babies under four months, it's just not fair.

Their airways can block, it's a terrible fate,
Premature babies, the risk is higher still to wait,
The NCT and Lullaby Trust, they're on the case,
Updating guidance, to prevent a tragic face.

A coroner's report, led to this new rule,
A six-week-old boy, lost his life, it's cruel,
Jimmy Alderman, from London, was the one,
Breastfed in a sling, his life was undone.

The coroner warned, of the dangers so real,
No safe positioning, no helpful visual feel,
The NHS literature, offered no guidance at all,
A warning was issued, to prevent a tragic fall.

The NCT reviewed, its online advice with care,
And now says hands-free feeding's just not fair,
Babies under four months, it's a no-go zone,
Their necks are weak, their airway's not their own.
