"Trust Paid Millions for Substandard Care"

A trust with a troubled past, Received £2m for care that wouldn't last.

In Morecambe Bay, a trust did reside,
NHS's gold standard, they'd gladly provide,
But Ida Lock's death showed a different side,
A failure to care, a life left to divide.
A coroner ruled, with a heavy heart,
The trust's mistakes led to Ida's early part,
Gross failure of midwives, a lack of care,
A brain injury suffered, with no one to spare.
Ida's parents cried out, with a sorrow so deep,
Their baby's life lost, due to a mistake to keep,
The trust's claims of safety, a false delight,
A £2m payment, for a job not done right.
The Maternity Incentive Scheme, a plan so grand,
To promote safe care, across the land,
But UHMB's record, a mixed-up tale,
Four times they claimed perfection, but failed to prevail.
A review of the trust, a critical eye,
Found many issues, still lingering high,
The lead midwife's failure, a neonatal sin,
Eight chances missed, to save Ida's life within.
