Gothenburg's Green Ambition Takes a Step Backward.

In Gothenburg, Sweden's second city so fair,
They're showing off their green credentials with care.
A "sustainability linked loan" they took with glee,
A first in the world, a feat to see.

Their targets are high, four areas to improve,
Renewable energy, electric vehicles to love.
Energy usage down, and neighbourhoods too,
To make the city a better place, that's what they do.

They get a discount for meeting their goals each year,
A hundred thousand kronor, a sum quite clear.
But miss a target, and they'll have to pay,
A fine of the same amount, in a financial way.

In 2024, they missed their renewable goal,
But still avoided a penalty, a story to unfold.
Their efforts to improve energy usage and more,
Earned them discounts, a financial score.

Fredrik Block says they aimed high, with a plan so grand,
To be carbon-free by 2030, in this Swedish land.
Their work in poor areas, a priority so true,
