TikTok's US Ban Looms, Trump Grants Extension

In the US, a law did pass,
Requiring TikTok to sell or be aghast,
The platform must change hands, or face a ban,
Or "go dark" in the US, a fate so grand.

The president, Trump, granted a second reprieve,
75 more days to find a buyer to believe,
He wrote on Truth Social, with a hopeful tone,
"We look forward to working, to close the Deal, alone."

TikTok's owner, ByteDance, is a Chinese firm,
With 170 million users in the US, a big concern to firm,
The platform must be sold, or face a ban so strict,
Unless a buyer is found, with a deal to inspect.

ByteDance spoke out, with a statement so clear,
"We've been in talks, but an agreement's not near,"
There are key matters to resolve, with Chinese law to abide,
Any deal will be subject, to approval with pride.

The Biden administration, had warned of a spy threat,
TikTok could be used, to manipulate and defeat,
But opponents of a ban, cited freedom of speech so dear,
To keep the platform open, without a single fear.
