In London's Thames, a water tale is told,
Of spills and leaks, and fines to hold.
£122.7m, a penalty so grand,
For breaching rules, and a failing hand.
The regulator Ofwat, did declare,
Thames Water let down its customers with care.
Failed to protect the environment, a sad plight,
And paid out dividends, without a fight.
The company said, with a serious face,
We take our responsibility to the environment's place.
But the regulator said, with a stern tone,
You've let us down, and must atone.
The fines will be paid, by the company and its crew,
Not by customers, who've seen their bills go through.
£104.5m for sewage spills, a heavy price to pay,
And £18.2m for dividends, in a most unpleasant way.
The company's in debt, a £20bn weight,
And struggling to stay afloat, without a fate.
A £3bn rescue loan, did help to ease the pain,
But the company's still in trouble, with no clear gain.
The Environment Secretary said, with a stern face,
The era of profiting from failure, is in its place.
No more bonuses, for those who've failed to deliver,
The company's in trouble, and must now endeavour.
Thames Water's boss, did say with a grin,
We're doing our best, to get back in the win.
But the regulator said, with a firm hand,
You've let us down, and must now take a stand.
