A spacecraft named Athena, so brave and so fine,
Landed on the Moon with a lopsided design.
It was meant to search for water ice with glee,
But its solar panels were stuck, oh what could be?
The cold temperatures and the sun's direction too,
Made it hard for Athena to recharge anew.
It was supposed to spend 10 days on the lunar floor,
But now it's stuck, with power to spare no more.
Intuitive Machines partnered with Nasa so grand,
To explore the Moon and see if humans can stand.
But Athena's landing was a bit of a test,
And now it's unlikely its instruments will do their best.
A drill and a robot, a mass spectrometer too,
Were meant to explore the Moon, but now they're stuck in view.
The mission was ambitious, but the outcome's not bright,
A fraction of science goals, a disappointing sight.
But still Athena achieved some milestones so fine,
It reached the Mons Mouton region, a feat so divine.
A flat-topped mountain, 100 miles from the South Pole's might,
A difficult landing, but Athena gave it a try in the night.
