In Scotland's suburbs, a house so fair,
A family's life was about to take a scare.
Detectives arrived with a warrant in hand,
To investigate a crime that's hard to withstand.
They searched for a suspect, a man so unkind,
Who'd been talking to a child online, left behind.
His partner was told, the children did too,
The officers tried to calm them, with a gentle "it's true".
"It's like delivering a death message," one said with a sigh,
"You're telling them the truth, and it's hard to deny.
The person they thought they knew, is not who they seem,
It's a devastating truth, that's hard to beam."
Paedophiles are on the rise, with a new game,
Direct contact with children, is their aim.
They use social media, streaming too,
To groom and coerce, with a plan so cruel and new.
The police unit investigates, with a careful eye,
700 cases a year, is their constant cry.
They safeguard children, and bring offenders to justice too,
But the problem's relentless, and it's hard to break through.
The tech industry's alerted, to the crimes so bold,
The police work hard, to keep children safe to hold.
But it's a global problem, that needs a global view,
To make the online world, a safer place for me and you.
A man was arrested, with a warrant so fine,
Charged with sexual communications, a crime so unkind.
He'll face the courts, and the law will decide,
But the impact on the family, will be hard to hide.
