Register to Vote Before Midnight Friday.

In England's local elections, a date's set tight,
May 1st is the day, don't forget to vote tonight.
Register before midnight on Friday, that's the key,
To have your say in the elections, come and see.

Twenty-three councils across England will have a say,
Elections in 14 county councils, in a major way.
Devon, Derbyshire, and Cambridgeshire too,
Will elect councillors, and mayors, it's true.

In unitary authorities, eight will take part,
Buckinghamshire, Cornwall, and County Durham in heart.
North Northamptonshire, Northumberland, and more,
Will elect councillors, and mayors, galore.

In Doncaster, a metropolitan district will vote,
And six mayoral elections, will take to the note.
In the West of England, Cambridgeshire, and more,
Will elect mayors, and councillors, to the core.

But in East Sussex, West Sussex, and others too,
Elections will be delayed, until 2026, it's true.
The government's plan, to shake up local government,
Will mean some elections, will be postponed, no event.
