In Wales, a steel plant did stand,
Port Talbot, a place in demand,
Jobs were lost, 2,800 did go,
A tragedy that many did know.
The UK government, a plan did make,
For Scunthorpe, nationalisation to take,
But why not Port Talbot, the same to see,
Plaid Cymru asked, "Why not for me?"
Luke Fletcher spoke, with a voice so clear,
"Why wasn't it good enough, I do declare?"
The government's deal, not so different to say,
From the one before, in a major way.
Tata Steel, a company so grand,
Used green hydrogen, in a foreign land,
But not in Wales, a strange, sad sight,
A missed opportunity, day and night.
Gwyn Williams spoke, with a voice so bold,
"Wales needs green tech, to young hearts to mold,"
But Tata said no, with a stubborn face,
And left the people, in a troubled place.
A pickle line, a new step to take,
But will it be enough, for the people's sake?
The government's deal, a £500m aid,
But is it enough, to save the trade?
