In Scotland's land of comedy and flair,
Two friends Alan and Forbes did share,
A stage partnership that brought them delight,
As Victor and Barry, shining so bright.
They met in drama school, a bond took hold,
Their double act Victor and Barry, stories untold,
At the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, they stole the show,
Their laughter and jokes, a joy to know.
Years went by, and they parted ways,
But memories of Victor and Barry stayed,
Until a book about their first stage play,
Made them realize, it's time to revive the day.
"We had so much fun writing the book," said Forbes with glee,
"We thought it would be great to revive The High Life, you see,"
Alan and Forbes reunited, a dream come true,
Their bumbling cabin crew, ready to shine anew.
The High Life was ripe for a revival, they said,
With Victor and Barry, and their friends, in their heads,
Shona Spurtle and Captain Hilary Duff too,
A reunion show, with a story or two.
Writing workshops took place in Glasgow's town,
With rehearsals and laughter, the show was getting down,
It's bonkers, said Alan, with a grin so wide,
Their crazy antics, ready to take the stage with pride.
The musical picks up where the series left off,
Sebastian and Steve, still on duty, aloft,
The airline's sold, and the end may be near,
But their surreal comedy, will bring laughter and cheer.
The High Life came from Scottish surreal comedy's roots,
A tradition of humor, that brings us to our boots,
Life has gone on, and they're asking the question too,
Is that it, as two guys in their 60s, with careers anew.
They've achieved plenty, but this is born out of love,
A reunion show, sent from above,
They can't wait to get back on the road,
Touring the country, with their friends, in tow.
Strange cities, new faces, and a bunch of fun,
Working on the show, as they travel, everyone,
It's a great experience, that they can't deny,
The High Life is back, and it's ready to fly.
